The Club
In March 2005, while attending my first meeting of the Bramley Line, I asked another member if he knew where the Model Railway Club in the Wisbech area met and when, but he informed me there wasn't one, because it had closed down years before owing to what he termed a 'Lack of Interest' if you can believe such piffle.
Within two hours of getting back home, I had headed notepaper, an E-mail address and written to three local papers asking for anybody interested in starting a club to contact me. I also asked for any knowledge of premises and a local businessman came up with a truly Exclusive offer that was far too good to turn down.
This same Gentleman is a railway enthusiast, with models of his own and during the summer months, we get to see 'live steam' on his garden layout. It is strictly because of this railway, that we do not openly divulge where we meet, so as to avoid any of the 'unwanted' kind of member popping in there and vandalising it.
For details of 'The Club' as the members call it, log-on to the website and while there, take a look at some of the pictures of the first layout now being Exhibited on the Double Award Winning www.wmrc.weebly.com website.
Alternatively, E-mail wismrc@hotmail.co.uk and a reply will be sent back to you as soon as possible.
