Detailing a Hornby Lowmac Wagon

By Daniel Cousins

Here is how I weathered a Hornby Lowmac wagon using only a few paints and using a brush. The wooden floor was dry brushed with matt black using a old brush as dry brushing is harsh on brushes so don’t use your best brush.

The bogies and wheels were then dry brushed lightly with a rust colour as was the body around rivets and nooks and crannies. The collars of the buffers were then painted silver which makes a huge difference to the model.

The load is a Woodland Scenics kit of a bulldozer made painted in new condition.
